Therr is about real places and real people. These Guidelines are what make that
work. They apply to everything on the Service — Moments, Spaces, Events, Thoughts,
replies, direct messages, group chats, profiles, usernames, photos, videos, ratings,
and reviews.
These Guidelines are part of our
Terms of Service. Breaking them can cost
you your content, your rewards balance, or your account.
Never allowed
The following results in immediate removal and, in most cases, permanent account
termination. Where the law requires it, we report to the authorities.
- Child sexual abuse and exploitation. Absolutely
prohibited, in any form, including sexualized depictions of minors, grooming,
and solicitation. We report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited
Children and to law enforcement. Report it immediately at
therr.com/child-safety.
- Threats and incitement of violence, including credible
threats against a person or place, and organizing or promoting violent
activity.
- Terrorism and violent extremism, including content that
promotes, supports, or represents a violent extremist organization.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, and any sexual content
involving a person who has not consented to it being shared.
- Human trafficking and exploitation, including the sale of
people or of sexual services.
- Promotion of suicide or self-harm. If you are struggling,
please reach out to a crisis line — in the US, call or text 988.
- Sale of illegal or regulated goods, including drugs,
weapons, and counterfeit items.
Not allowed
Harassment and hate
- Targeted harassment, bullying, or repeated unwanted contact.
- Hate speech or dehumanizing content targeting people based on race,
ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, caste, sex, gender,
gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious disease.
- Encouraging others to harass someone.
Privacy and safety of others
- Posting someone's private information — home address, phone number, email,
financial or identity documents, or precise real-time location — without their
permission.
- Posting photos or videos of an identifiable person who has not consented to
being recorded or to that content being posted.
- Using the Service to track, stalk, surveil, or monitor a person's
movements.
- Posting content that reveals where a specific person lives, works, or
regularly goes, in a way that could endanger them.
Adult content and graphic material
- Pornography, sexual solicitation, and sexually explicit content.
- Gratuitously graphic, gory, or shocking imagery.
- Content designed to disgust or distress rather than inform.
Deception and impersonation
- Impersonating a person, business, or organization, or falsely claiming
affiliation with one.
- Claiming a Space you are not authorized to represent.
- Fake accounts, bots, and coordinated inauthentic behavior.
- Scams, phishing, pyramid schemes, and fraudulent offers.
Reviews, ratings, and rewards integrity
People make real decisions about where to go based on what they read here, so we
hold this to a strict standard.
- No fake, purchased, incentivized, or AI-generated reviews or ratings.
- No reviewing your own business, a business you work for, or a
competitor.
- No offering or accepting anything of value in exchange for a review, a
rating, or the removal of one.
- If you have a material connection to a business you post
about — you are an employee, an owner, an investor, a family member,
or you received a free or discounted product, a payment, or rewards in exchange
for the post — you must clearly disclose it in the post
itself.
- No faking your location, spoofing GPS, or using emulators, automation, or
extra accounts to earn check-ins, TherrCoin, XP, achievements, or leaderboard
position.
Spam and platform abuse
- Bulk, repetitive, or irrelevant posting.
- Unsolicited commercial messages, and invitations to people who have not
agreed to hear from you.
- Scraping, crawling, or bulk-collecting content or user data.
- Attempting to access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorized to
access.
Intellectual property
- Posting content you do not have the rights to.
- Using someone else's trademark in a way that confuses people about who you
are.
Copyright complaints are handled under our
Copyright & DMCA Policy.
Expectations for in-person interactions
What happens offline matters here. Behavior at a meetup, event, or Space that
would violate these Guidelines online can result in enforcement on your account —
including harassment, threats, and any conduct that endangers another user.
Stay safe: meet in public, tell someone where you are going, do not share your
home address or real-time location with strangers, and leave any situation that
feels wrong. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services first, then
report to us.
Reporting
Report content or a user from the "…" menu on any post or profile in
the app, or email info@therr.com. You can also
block any user, which stops them from contacting you or seeing your content.
Reports are confidential — we do not tell the person you reported who reported
them. We review reports promptly and prioritize anything involving safety, ordinarily
acting on those within 24 hours.
Child safety reports:
therr.com/child-safety.
What happens when someone breaks these Guidelines
We consider the severity of the violation, whether it appears intentional, the
harm caused, and the account's history. Depending on those factors we may:
- remove or restrict the visibility of content;
- add a label or warning to content;
- issue a warning to the account;
- temporarily limit features such as posting, messaging, or inviting;
- reverse rewards earned through prohibited behavior and forfeit the
balance;
- suspend the account; or
- permanently terminate the account and block the person from creating a new
one.
Serious violations skip the warning. Anything in the "Never
allowed" list above results in immediate termination.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, tell us — we do get things wrong.
Email info@therr.com within
30 days of the enforcement action, with the subject line
"Appeal", the username on the account, and why you think the decision was
incorrect. A person who was not involved in the original decision will
review it and reply, ordinarily within 14 days. If we made a mistake, we
will reverse the action and restore your content, your account, and any rewards that
were reversed.
How we moderate
We use a combination of user reports, automated detection of known prohibited
material, and human review. Automated systems flag content, but a person
makes any decision that suspends or terminates an account, or that removes content
where the context is ambiguous. We do not use automated systems to make
decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Changes
We update these Guidelines as the community grows and new problems appear. We
will change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice
as described in our Terms of Service.
